It’s funny how sometimes you say one thing and people hear different things. Remember the “Yanny” versus “Laurel” craze last spring? That’s what’s fun about leadership, too. Even though you may be working toward a common goal or share the same values, everyone connects to leadership and activities in a different way. We spend some time in this spring issue helping you look at different ways to connect with and energize those in your council and chapter.
We’re most excited to present an up-close-and-personal feature with Susan Waldrep and Lisa Whirtley. Who better to share promising ways to lead councils than our 2018 Warren E. Shull Advisers of the Year?
And reaching beyond our councils and chapters, we invite you to help us celebrate National Student Leadership Week, April 21–27. It’s our way of celebrating the positive impact and power of all student leaders to help make our schools a better and brighter place. Thank you for your leadership and guidance of students. They shine because you shine.
“When you let your own light shine, you unconsciously give others permission to do the same.”
